The Lost Princess

The stone beneath her was hard and cold, and she lay across it with no intent of making herself comfortable. Her green head hung forward, leaning on her front leg as she felt her silver mane fall in front of her eyes and dangle from the edge of the rock, swaying slightly as the gentle breeze whispered through the trees of the Everfree Forest and tried to rouse the sunken Alicorn from her emotional battle.
Her green wings tucked into her small body, no larger than any pony's in Equestria. She wasn't as beautiful as Celestia, and she was well aware she'd been forgotten about Centuries ago, as she'd heard no pony even murmur her name.
The Princess' dark eyes stared into the pool beneath her, glowering at her own reflection scornfully. She longed to live in the towns with the other ponies, but her destiny locked her within the dark shadowy terrain of the forest. It felt more like a banishment to her - to be Protector of the trees, when her only company were the plants and the wind. She'd heard the birds talking of a Zebra in the forest, but she'd never encountered her, and she wouldn't know what to say if she did.
Yes - Princess Ivy had a lonely life. But she couldn't deny her fate.
